The Junior Men’s race at the World Championships is the category where American men have had the most success, with one win and two seconds. Americans have also come close to the podium in recent years, with Logan Owen finishing fourth in Louisville in 2013 and Gage Hecht placing fourth in Tabor in 2015.

This year, Lane Maher (HotTubes Devo) was one of the U.S. Juniors hoping to add to the American Worlds medal count. Maher had a rough day at U.S. Nationals, so he was also looking to cap his season with a memorable finish in the Valkenburg mud after disappointment in the Reno desert.
