LILLE, Belgium – Sanne Cant (Enertherm – BKCP) rebounded from last week’s disappointing second place finish at the World Championships to take the win at round eight of the Bpost Bank Trofee series, Krawatencross.

By lap two Cant had separated herself from her closest competitor, Ellen Van Loy (VZW Young Telenet Fidea Cycling Team) whose series lead was 1:54 at the start. Van Loy fought to close the gap, but by the last lap Cant had extended her lead to 38 seconds. Despite being unable to match Cant in the sand, Van Loy’s second place finish, 33 seconds down, was enough to secure her series lead.

The overall Bpost Bank Trophy Series title wraps up a successful season for Van Loy, who started her season in August with a win at the Qiansen Trophy Race in China, and kept a 40-hour-a-week job throughout the season.

Helen Wyman (Kona FFSA Factory Team), riding in third, maintained her position to fend off Loes Sels (VZW Young Telenet Fidea Cycling Team) to finish on the podium.

In a post via Sporza’s live feed Cant was quoted as saying, “I cycled the frustration of last weekend from my body.”

The win adds to Cant’s season victories total, now at a whopping 19.
