While wandering the elite course, we ran into the Canadian team as they prepared to hit the course to get ready for the rescheduled elite races. We stopped Craig Ritchey and Geoff Kabush to ask what their thoughts on the schedule change were, and both racers are feeling optimistic.

In fact, Kabush smiled and told us that, “I’m pretty excited … there’s a lot more potential built into the weekend now.” His plans? An “omnium” of sorts involving the race itself, the famed Foam Party, and a hockey match, “Canada versus the World.”

Will Kabush make it into his own “omnium”? “I have a reputation, a lot to live up to after some article someone wrote about me, but I just want to be in contention.”

Craig Richey had a slightly more serious take on the switch, saying, “It doesn’t bother me. Most people have been here for a few days. It just means one day less of preriding but the course conditions are changing so fast every day so the preriding doesn’t really matter.”
