The 2022 World Championships is has landed in Fayetteville for the race for the rainbow stripes.

Due to the pandemic and the distance, the 2022 Worlds will be one of the smallest in recent years due to the smaller teams fielded by most European countries.

A lot of star riders have dropped out due to COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 illnesses.

See the preliminary start lists below. The start list has not been updated to reflect the recent drop-outs including Annemarie Worst and Denise Betsema. 

Elite Women:

Lucinda Brand, Marianne Vos, Ceylin Del Carmen Alvarado, Clara Honsinger, and Kata Blanka Vas will be attending the World Championship. Some big stars will be missing from the race. Annemarie Worst is asymptomatic but will miss the event due to a positive COVID-19 test, while Denise Betsema is ill but not positive with COVID-19.

Seven Americans will be attending the race.

Fayetteville World Championship Elite Women

Elite Men

Eli Iserbyt, Toon Aerts, Michael Vanthourenhout, Lars van der Haar, and Laurens Sweeck will competing for the World Championship title. Unfortunately, we are missing a lot of big stars.

Mathieu van der Poel will not be attending as he is still recovering from his back injury.

Wout van Aert is focusing on the Spring Classics and celebrating his tricolore jersey win.

Lastly, Quinten Hermans has been tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the trip.
