Quinten Hermans, one of the top Belgian Elite Men cyclocrossers and a favorite for the World Championships, will not attend the 2022 Fayetteville UCI Cyclocross World Championships.

Hermans was victorious the last time UCI Cyclocross racing hit the Arkansas track, winning the 2021 Fayetteville World Cup.

He, along with Belgian Junior Woman Xaydée Van Sinaey, both tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the trip.

Hermans already had bad luck on Sunday after he was caught up in a crash at the final World Cup in Hoogerheide.

While Toon Vendebosch will replace Hermans on the team, Sinaey’s spot will not be filled by Belgian Cycling.
