Vittoria

It didn’t look like there was much new to see at Vittoria unless you brought a microscope, but the company was celebrating its updated Terreno line that features Graphene 2.0.

Could we tell the difference beyond the hot patch? Not to our gravel-crusted eyes. But the company maintains the updated rubber compounds roll out some important benefits.

Can you see the diference? We couldn't, but these Terreno tires now feature Graphene 2.0, and is said to use three different compounds for better grip, rolling resistance and durability. 2019 Sea Otter Classic. © A. Yee / Cyclocross Magazine

The different Graphene-based compounds in the Terreno tires are said to now offer increased durability, reduced rolling resistance and improved grip. Pick all three with Graphene 2.0, says Vittoria. Stay tuned for a test.

The company also was showing off its Air-Liner, its answer to CushCore. Although the products are currently only offered in mountain bike sizes, if you’re running 45mm+ tires on your bike, you might be able to squeeze the size Small into your wheels, as they’re rated for tires 1.9″ (48mm) and bigger.

Vittoria's answer to the Cush Core is its Air-Liner, which retails for about $90. The product is currently only available in mountain bike sizes, but those of use running big tires on gravel can take advantage of progressive suspension, rim and burp protection, and an ability to ride home after a sidewall cut. 2019 Sea Otter Classic. © A. The company says Air-Liner will last for 2,000 hours (about 100 very amateur DK200s) and has plenty of potential for gravel and cyclocross, but the company doesn’t appear to offer a gravel or cyclocross size yet.
