Cyclocross rider Katie Compton (Rabobank Giant Offroad Team) goes up against World MTB Champion, Maja Wloszczowska (CCC), in the Jelenia Gora Maja Wloszczowska Trophy Sprint Eliminator in downtown Jelenia Gora, Poland. Says Mark, Compton’s husband, the sprint eliminator is “a really great racing format they need to adopt in the US.”
Compton tweeted: “Stoked to win the sprint eliminator in Jelenia Gora. Great racing and super fun techy course. Finally found my sprint legs!” However, while she won the sprint eliminator, she ended up in second overall to Maja Wloszczowska, who Compton said “was too strong on the hot and very hard course.”
