With Curtis White and Stephen Hyde (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com) off the front, it was going to be a good day for Stu Thorne’s team. The question was which of his two riders would get the win on Day 1 of the Verge Northampton International p/b Cycle-Smart.

White missed Sunday’s Pan-American Championship race due to illness, while Hyde came into Northampton on a five-race winning streak. The odds seemed to be in the defending National Champion’s favor.

The result, however, went to White. White out kicked Hyde in the finishing straight to take his third-straight win at Northampton.

Hyde finished second and Jack Kisseberth (Jam Fund / NCC) rounded out the podium in third.
