The KMC Cross Fest is a bit of a hike from the West Coast, but the cross-country trip was worth it for several of the country’s top Juniors on Friday evening.

Calder Wood (Rad Racing NW) of Washington led a rad podium party by edging out teammate Scott Funston (Rad Racing NW) and California native Ben Gomez-Villafane (TopClub Cyclocross).

The podium trio entered the last lap with a group of seven that also included Lane Maher (Hot Tubes Development), Alex Morton (Cannondale p/b, Dylan Kerr (Angry Johnnys Evolution) and Sam Noel (Cannondale p/b The group stayed together for most of the last lap and the top five riders finished within one second of one another.
