“White is not a mere absence of color; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black.” -Gilbert K. Chesterton.

While we’re not sure who Chesterton is, he might as well be speaking about the new road component options over at SRAM. Following the company’s announcement of their new black option for SRAM Red, SRAM today unveiled an “alpine white” option for its typically black entry-level group, SRAM Apex.

Confused?  Don’t be. Basically if you want the most affordable DoubleTap group, a wide-range cassette option and want to show off how clean you keep your bike or how little you ride, SRAM has a new option for you. The performance remains the same, but it’s a whole lot brighter.

Of note are the flat bar 10speed Apex shifters and brake levers for flat bar cyclocrossers.

Microshift's shifters are Shimano compatible, but we haven't seen a SRAM compatible shifter. Cassettes/chains are of course. Or did we miss a new product?

Microshift have already done this and it's Shimano/SRAM compatible. Also, lighter and cheaper!!yd

Reminds me of Shimano Sante.
