On Saturday, Stephen Hyde (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com) was a man on a mission who dominated the race at Devou Park. On Sunday, Gage Hecht (Alpha Bicycle – Groove Subaru) was on a mission to score a huge victory over the reigning national champion.
Hecht took Hyde into the bell lap before Hyde attacked and escaped to grab his second victory in as many days. With the win, Hyde also cemented his hold on the overall US Cup-CX standings.
Hecht was rewarded with a second for his efforts. Curtis White (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com) grabbed third after a last lap battle with Jamey Driscoll (Donnelly Cycling) and Kerry Werner (Kona Factory Racing).
