America’s favorite Irish-American cyclocrosser Maria Larkin (Donkey Label Racing p/ FK Law) was back home in her native Ireland for the 2020 Irish Cyclocross National Championships on Sunday.

Larkin, who lives in Chicago, had finished second at Irish Nationals three times coming into the race, and with Sunday’s race held in Enniscrone near where she grew up, it was a major focus for her this season.

“This is the first time, to my knowledge, that Nationals will be held in the province of Connacht, and so I am doubly focused on taking home the win in my home county,” she said in our profile of her Colnago Prestige.

Larkin achieved her goal at Enniscrone, riding—but mostly running—to the win on a muddy course that did not look all that different than some of the mudders the Chicago Cross Cup hosted this season.

A replay of the race is available from Cycling Ireland. The Elite Women’s race starts around the 1:24 mark and there is an interview with Larkin at 2:56.
