The U.S. is treated to a rare midweek UCI Cyclocross World Cup tomorrow, something we haven’t seen since the days of CrossVegas held during the defunct Interbike trade show.

The racers descend from Waterloo, Wisconsin down to Fayetteville, Arkansas to preview what’s likely to be the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championship course.

While the Elite Women’s start list for the Fayetteville World Cup looks to be the same as what we saw at the 2021 World Cup Waterloo, two men look to be skipping the trip to the Wednesday race.

Vincent Baestaens, fresh off seventh at the 2021 UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Waterloo and four straight UCI wins prior to that, is not on the Fayetteville start list. “I traveled a lot already, so I chose to train and rest for Friday’s UCI C1 and Sunday’s World Cup in Iowa,” Baestaens told Cyclocross Magazine.

American Daxton Mock is also not on the start list for Fayetteville. There are 14 American men and women with 2 substitutes, 5 Canadian men and 6 Canadian women.
