Louisville's proposed 2013 Cyclocross World Championship Course preview?

Back in December, we brought you a video preview of the upcoming permanent cyclocross course at Louisville’s Eva Bandman park (also below), the likely venue for a 2013 Cyclocross World Championships in Louisville.

The UK’s Simon Burney is part of the committee that decides on World Cup and World Championship venues for cyclocross and mountain biking, and shared some telling words back in the fall on his opinion about the Louisville venue. “The area, terrain and surroundings lend themselves perfectly to a major race venue, and with the city of Louisville firmly behind the project, the future certainly looks exciting as bigger events choose Louisville as their preferred venue,” he said. Could “bigger events” include World Cups and World Championships? It looks likely.
