Kristen Mills passed us this info on Harry Lam, a UCI official that was injured at the Cycle-Smart International last weekend.
Our UCI official, Harry Lam from Utah, was injured at Northampton, MA this past weekend at the Cycle-Smart International cyclocross race. Harry’s wife gave us the okay today to share his condition with everyone. Harry did sustain a skull fracture, brain bleed, two black eyes, and a broken nose from a collision with a rider at the finish of the M35 race on Saturday, November 7th.Fortunately Harry did not require surgery and has already begun working with a physical therapist. He is in the early stages of recovery and has a long road ahead of him. The good news is that Harry was being released from the hospital today. Harry’s wife and parents drove up from Virginia yesterday and will be taking him back to VA where he will stay with his parents until he is cleared to fly back to UT, which could be a couple of months.
The Harry Lam Donation Fund has been set-up through BikeReg.com. We want to thank everyone in advance for their generosity in helping Harry and his family with his medical expenses. http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=9607
