Cross VegasJuly 21, 2008 (Boulder Colo.) The wait is over for CrossVegas fans looking for details about the cyclocross race that has become the highlight of the Interbike show week. CrossVegas.com has been revamped with complete information about the September 24th race in Las Vegas.

Among the most awaited information has been the “Wheelers and Dealers Race,” an industry insider’s race that will kick off a full evening of racing on the first evening of Interbike. CrossVegas partner Brook Watts explained “We’ve laid out full details of the Wheelers and Dealers race on the site so the floodgates will probably open when Online Registration begins on August 1st.” Categories for the 30-minute race include Men, Women, Media, Manufacturer, Retailer and Distributor. “Bragging rights and commemorative medals are at stake, this may be as hotly contested as the Elite races,” said Watts.

Crossvegas.com also describes VIP Hospitality packages available that include all food and beverages. Watts heads the sales and marketing effort and explained, “Anyone who is already doing entertaining or hosting dinners should consider CrossVegas as their site. We’ve created an atmosphere that’s perfect for a fun evening with packages include that “Wheelers and Dealers” entries if there are racers in the company. You don’t want to be the guy on the show floor Thursday morning who says I should’ve gone to CrossVegas” warned Watts.

Dubbed “the international cyclocross season starts American-style in Las Vegas,” CrossVegas featured a field of elite men and women racing under the lights at Desert Breeze Soccer Complex, a short distance from the VegasStrip and Interbike. In 2007 Canadian Lynne Bessette won the women’s event while then-U.S. national champion, Ryan Trebon, took the men’s title in front of 5,000+ spectators.

In other CrossVegas news Watts said some European manufacturers are talking about bringing sponsored athletes over. “Euro riders are talking about making it part of their 2008 schedule so I hope we have news to share in the next few weeks. It certainly makes sense for sponsors to take advantage of their riders to showcase your product in front of U.S. retailers and the world’s largest cross market”

CrossVegas is owned by Cross Partners LLC, a Boulder Colorado based group headed by Chris Grealish and Brook Watts that stages international cyclocross events including CrossVegas. 2008 Sponsors include Alpha Q, Clif Bar, Challenge Tires, TRP, Dale’s Pale Ale, VeloNews and Clark County Parks Department.
