According to gva.be and our European correspondent, Christine Vardaros, Sanne Cant was hospitalized after a crash during her workout in Kasterlee.

She was moto-pacing with her father, Gino Cant, who was on a scooter, when a tractor pulled out onto the road suddenly. Both her father and Sanne Cant swerved out of the way of the tractor, with Gino’s scooter falling against the ground, but leaving him uninjured. Sanne was also able to avoid a direct impact, but still saw herself thrown forward from her bike.

On Friday afternoon, emergency services took her to a hospital, where she is being treated for injuries to her hip and shoulders. We will update as the information comes in.

Sanne Cant is currently the number one ranked female cyclocross rider in the World, and the silver medal finisher at the 2015 Cyclocross World Championships in Tabor.
