Last year’s third-place finisher at Elite Cyclocross Nationals Ellen Noble (Trek Factory Racing CX) will miss Sunday’s Elite Women’s race at Louisville Nationals.

Today, Noble posted on Instagram that due to the flu, she will not be making the trip to Lakewood to race.

“It’s never easy to make the decision to not race, but I know this is the right call. My sincerest apologies to my friends, fans and sponsors for this news,” Noble wrote on Instagram.

The news is the latest setback for Noble, who has fought through health issues all season long. Noble finished her season well, including winning both days at Ruts n’ Guts in Oklahoma two weekends ago.

“This year has been one setback after another — and it has weighed on me immensely. This diagnosis is especially hard given how well my build into Nats was going. But the support of everyone in my corner has kept me going and I am so thankful for that,” Noble wrote.
