DÜBENDORF, Switzerland— Mathieu Van Der Poel (NED) rode to a second-consecutive World Champion title in the mud of Dübendorf.

Tom Pidcock (GBR) attacked the chase group early to establish a solo second-place position that he maintained for the rest of the race. Toon Aerts (BEL) rode to bronze.
