The Collegiate Team Relay was the fifth title race of Thursday’s 2021 USA Cyclocross National Championships.
The Collegiate Team Relay is a little different from your standard race. As the saying goes, “There’s no I in team.” and these students had to race as one, doing one lap each all-out.
Taking first place was Colorado Mesa University. The team put on quite a display for the race. They were ranked first after the individual races Collegiate Varsity Men and Collegiate Varsity Women and only added to its lead.

If any team showed the most teamwork, it would be Fort Lewis College. The team went from sixth place, Sam Brown, at the Collegiate Varsity Men and fourth place, Ruth Holcomb, at the Collegiate Varsity Women to second place for the Collegiate Team Relay.
SCAD Atlanta finished third. Narrowly losing Fort Lewis College by 17 seconds. SCAD Atlanta was a dominant force during the individual races and it’s not surprising that they podiumed.
