While many of the world’s best cyclocross racers were contesting the Milton Keynes World Cup today, a few racers including American Tim Johnson flew to Japan to race in Japanese mud, at altitude, in the Japanese Alps at Nobeyama.

This year’s event is a UCI C2 affair.

We covered this unique event in person in 2011 and in expansive full color in Issue 16, but today we’ve got a video of the 2014 event’s Day 1 of racing.
