In 2017 at the first edition of World Cup Waterloo, the somewhat renegade Secret Bar made a splash as the party spot at the Trek Headquarters venue.

Tucked into a far corner of the property in the woods, the spot rewarded those who found their way back to its environs with a lively atmosphere and vibe that brought back memories of U.S. cyclocross’s irreverent roots.

The Secret Bar has since become a bit more official, with this year’s event beer sponsor Third Space Brewing of Milwaukee fermenting up a special Secret Bar Lager that, uh, some of the Legends Race participants were more than willing to imbibe … or pour on their head. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

During most of Friday and Saturday’s racing, riders whipped through the Secret Bar area, giving them precious few seconds to enjoy the party atmosphere. On Sunday, the uphill entrance and mud slowed things down and helped give riders a raucous boost as they started their journey back to Trek Factory Hill and the end of the World Cup lap.

Our Cyclocross Magazine photographer Dave Mable switched on his video camera during Saturday’s Legends Race to catch some of the festival vibe in the Secret Bar. You can watch the fun in the video below.
