Premier Sports Partners is pleased to announce the launch of the Team SmartStop presented by Mountain Khakis Cyclocross Team for the 2012/ 2013 season. Veteran pro ‘crosser Adam Myerson will represent the team at premier events across the country. Team owner Jamie Bennett said “With the increased popularity of cyclocross in the United States comes an enormous opportunity for our organization to provide year-round exposure for the benefit of our sponsors.” Bennett went on to say “after a few years of following cyclocross myself, I have seen no better ambassador and advocate for the sport in the US than Adam. Our organization is looking forward to starting a program with Adam that will keep SmartStop/Mountain Khakis on the cycling radar year round.”

Myerson to take on USGP in Fort Collins, CO this weekend

Myerson started preparing for the season in early August, after being given some latitude to leave his duties for the road team after The Tour of Elk Grove in early August. Since the first premier level event in Las Vegas mid-September, Myerson has picked up momentum each week this season. Buoyed by a pair of podiums in local events and a 12th place finish last Sunday in the Shimano New England Professional Cyclocross Series event in Providence, MA, Adam showed that after nearly 20 years racing at the top level of the sport in the US he still has the ability to race at the front of top professional events. This weekend’s US Grand Prix of Cyclocross races in Fort Collins will feature a top level field to contest the UCI category 1 event Saturday and category 2 event Sunday. “Normally I have enough top racing in New England to keep me at home in the fall. But with the support of SmartStop and Mountain Khakis this year, I wanted to support the national series and try to visit some scenes I don’t normally get to.” Keep up with the rest of the 2012/2013 season on www.teammk-smartstop.com and follow on twitter @Team SmartStop-MK
