While cyclocrossers/MTBers in the US were battling for positions on the American Cross-Country Mountain Bike Nationals podium this weekend, so were ’crossers across the globe. Here, we’re showcasing the ’crossers who raced their Nationals in recent weeks, and often out-performed racers with a strict MTB focus.

In Switzerland, Lukas Fluckiger took second at Nationals. In Canada, Geoff Kabush had a similar result and scored a silver medal as well. In Belgium, it was almost a cyclocrosser podium-sweep, with World Champion Sven Nys taking the win followed by Tom Meeusen.

On the women’s side of things, in France, Pauline Ferrand Prevot took second and Cyclocross Worlds Bronze Medalist Lucie Chainel-Lefevre took fifth. In Canada, Cyclocross Worlds team member Emily Batty took the win. In Belgium, Sanne Cant took second. And in the Czech Republic, Pavla Havlikova also took second.

When speaking with mountain bikers at US Nats this weekend, all we heard was how excited they all are for cyclocross season. Stay tuned for a few more interviews from the weekend, and for coverage of some early season cyclocross racing out in Utah at DealerCamp.
