Fresh off her Dutch National TT Win, Marianne Vos has been fighting hard in the Giro Ciclistico Internazionale Femminile, a ten-stage version of the Giro de Italia. Vos started off the race with a fourth place sprint in Stage 1, followed by a third-place finish the following day. A time trial and another sprint saw her lose a small amount of time before she exploded out of the field on Stage 5. On the hilly 122km day that took the racers from Orta S. Giulio to Pettenasco, Vos got herself into the day’s breakaway and then attacked on the final climb. The move gave her the stage win and the Pink Jersey, with a 21 second lead in GC.

Not satisfied to sit on her laurels, Vos won again the next day, out-sprinting her two breakaway partners.

As of Stage 7, Vos remains in the lead. Stay tuned for another update when the Giro finishes on the 11th.
