Lazer Support Japan Helmet

Lazer has created a helmet to support the relief effort in Japan.

June 22- On March 11, 2011 a 9.0 magnitude earthquake occurred 72 kilometers off the coast of Japan. It was the most powerful known earthquake ever to have hit Japan and one of the top five most powerful earthquakes in the world since record keeping began. The earthquake triggered a tsunami, with waves up to 38 meters high which hit the eastern coast of Japan. Nearly 15,000 citizens of Japan perished in the disaster, over 5000 were injured and nearly 11,000 are still missing. The overall cost of the disaster could exceed $300 billion making it the most expensive natural disaster in history.

Now, four months later, other events in the world may capture our attention but the tremendous task of rebuilding Japan continues. Lazer Sport wants to take a moment to remember our friends in Japan and help them in their effort to recover. So, as we launch our new Armor helmet model for 2012, we are offering a special limited edition “Support Japan” graphic with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this special edition helmet going towards the Red Cross disaster relief effort.

The Armor helmet is perfect for urban riding, commuting, BMX, MTB or park cycling and the “Support Japan” special limited edition graphic will show that you took a moment to keep Japan in your thoughts and helped aid in their national recovery.

The Armor helmet will be available to consumers in August of 2011. Contact your dealer for information on ordering the “Support Japan” Armor helmet.
