On Saturday, May 20, come ride and celebrate the amazing life and cyclocross career of Laurence Malone, who was tragically killed in a car accident two years ago.

There’s an offroad ride through Santa Cruz’s Wilder Ranch park, and a free post-ride catered after-party.

Malone was one of the most accomplished American cyclocrossers of all time, and made headlines in Europe for bunnyhopping barriers, earning him the name of “Der Springer.”

The ride starts at 11:00 AM at De Laveaga Park, 850 Branciforte Dr., Santa Cruz, CA, with the meeting spot at the “Forty Thieves” group site.

While the event is free, organizers are hoping attendees and any cyclocross fan with means will consider donating to support Malone’s young son Ikal, and the team has a fundraiser here, and it’s raised $2,000 of its $10,000 goal.
