Kelly Pasco has coordinated the first annual Laurence Malone Memorial Ride to commemorate the death of Laurence Malone. Laurence Malone was killed in a tragic vehicle accident on his way home from Ojai to New Mexico on May 17, 2021.

Malone was a five-time U.S. National Cyclocross Champion and inventor of the “bunny hop”. Malone was driving on Highway 138 when he suffered a head-on collision with a semi-trailer truck. Leaving behind his 9-year-old son, Ikal, and wife Diana. The memorial ride helps honor Malone’s legacy and there will be a fundraiser to help raise financial support for his family.

The event will be a ride through 2 of Malone’s favorite routes: the Sulpher loop and the Sisar loop. There will be an Aid station at the start of the Sisar route.  Gravel or mountain bikes are recommended for the ride. There will be a fully catered afterparty.
