Wisconsin native Kaitie Keough is known as the “Little Badger,” both for her Wisconsin roots and her tenacity on the cyclocross course. On Sunday, Keough took to the start line in Waterloo for a homecoming of sorts in front of family, friends and scores of locals who remember seeing her race as a Junior growing up in Racine.

The Little Badger started fast early on and sat in the chase group behind Sanne Cant inside the last lap. She attacked up the Segafredo Run-Up and opened a gap for second place she would not relinquish.

Her second at World Cup Waterloo completed a memorable trip to the Midwest where she also won the C1 at Jingle Cross under the lights and finished second at the Jingle Cross World Cup.

Cyclocross Magazine spoke with Keough after she was welcomed at the Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com team trailer by an impressive gathering of family, friends and teammates.
