Sanne Cant had a rocky trip to the U.S. in 2016, but she more than made up for it with a successful 2017 Midwest sojourn. Cant finished third at the Jingle Cross World Cup and then won on Sunday at World Cup Waterloo by dominating on the steep Trek Factory Hill.
Cant is again riding a Stevens Super Prestige this season, although her 2017/18 bike has some updates from the one we profiled when she won Worlds in Bieles.
The biggest change is an upgrade to the Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 groupset released earlier last year. Cant is running Dura-Ace R9150 Di2 front and rear derailleurs, a R9100 crankset and R9170 hydraulic disc brake calipers and dual control brake levers.
As seen in our profile of Mathieu van der Poel’s Jingle Cross-winning Stevens, the Super Prestige has been updated to include flat-mount disc brakes and a rear 12mm thru-axle, both of which are included on Cant’s new bike. The other noticeable change in the build is the use of the carbon Easton EC90 SL stem and handlebars in place of the Scorpo ones she used last year.
Aesthetically, Cant’s bike has been painted and adorned to honor her 2017 World Championship. Rainbow colors cover the bike, and it is outfitted with a custom rainbow-colored Selle Italia SLR saddle.
