As a young woman growing up in neighboring Wisconsin, Kaitlin Keough began making an annual pilgrimage to the Jingle Cross festival in Iowa City since she was 15. At last year’s World Cup, Keough had a memorable third-place ride, and on Friday night, she used a late attack on Mt. Krumpit to win the C1 warm-up for Sunday’s World Cup.

In this post-race interview, Keough talks about her accidental attack on Mt. Krumpit and her epic battle against Katie Compton under the lights in Iowa City.
