We’ve got official UCI highlights of the 2016 Elite Men’s race from the Zolder UCI Cyclocross World Cup, a Boxing Day, and for Wout van Aert fans, it was knockout:

Most of the drama was in the fight for second, Kevin Pauwel’s inevitable charge into third, and following Mathieu van der Poel’s back and forth with mechanicals.

Perhaps the most impressive early race move was Lars Boom’s move from sixth row to seventh in just three turns—giving lowly-ranked or late-registering racers inspiration at their next race or even at Nationals in Hartford.
