The city has hosted the USGP series for the last several years, boasts the impressive Red Zone junior racing team as one its local clubs, and over the last few years, has had a movement towards a permanent cyclocross course.  [Update: the 2013 Cyclocross World Championships and the 2012 and 2013 Masters Cyclocross World Championiships will be coming to Eva Bandman Park in Louisville].
