Wout van Aert does it again.

Today in the 2020 Tour de France on Stage 5, the young Belgian from Jumbo Visma once again showed the world’s best sprinters that cyclocrossers have an explosive kick that translates pretty well to paved surfaces.

Van Aert passed Cees Bol (Team Sunweb) and new green jersey holder Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quickstep) to take the victory on Stage 5 in Privas, France.

The Stage 5 victory is Van Aert’s second sprint victory in two years of racing Le Tour, after winning Stage 10 last year.

Watch the highlights including the sprint below:

The sprint victory came one day after his massive effort pulling the lead group up the final climb in Stage 4. See a bit of that effort below around the 11:40 mark.

We can’t wait until the day we might see cyclocross rivals Van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel battle for the green jersey in a future Tour.
