The 2011 World Cup season started last weekend, with Compton and Nys taking the first wins of the season. The racing continues this Sunday in the Czech Republic, this time at the site of 2010 Worlds, Tabor. Back in 2010, Katie Compton was sidelined by leg cramps and couldn’t race in Tabor, and this year she won’t be in attendance because she’ll be attending her brother’s wedding, leaving the field wide open for some of her competitors to snag those points. And while Nys took the win in a sprint finish last weekend, for Americans, the real victory was seeing Jeremy Powers crack the top ten.

This week, there are eleven Americans starting: six women, four men, and one U23 racer.

We’ll be catching up with some of the racers — both US and Euro — after this weekend’s race to see how their early season US races stacked up against the Czech World Cups.

Stay tuned for our race coverage, and for now, take a look at the course map and start lists.
