Jamis Bicycles has fully embraced disc brakes for 2013, and their newly unveiled cyclocross line-up includes three brand new disc brake cyclocross bikes. We’ve got the full specs already loaded in our cyclocross bicycle directory and comparison engine before the company has even released them on their website, and the variety of models provide cyclocross racers of all budgets with a disc brake option.
Their top-of-the-line 2013 Nova Pro combines Ultegra Di2 and Shimano CX70 components with Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes and their aluminum frame for a $3900 cyclocross bike with the latest technology.
The $1300 Nova Race keeps the Nova Pro’s BB7 brakes, frame, and fork but moves down to Shimano Tiagra components.
The affordable $850 Nova Sport switches to Tektro Lyra mechanical disc brakes, Shimano Sora components (older 8-speed version), and an aluminum fork, but retains the 7005-series aluminum frame.
Given sponsored pro Tyler Wren’s success at the Crusher in the Tushars endurance cyclocross/gravel race on his prototype Jamis carbon disc brake bike (see photos below), it looks like Jamis will have even higher-end options coming soon.
