At Interbike, Industry Nine showed off wheelsets built with its Torch Road Alloy (TRA) platform. The TRA is a marriage between Industry Nine’s mountain and road disc wheelsets aimed at cyclocross and gravel.

The TRA build has straight-pull aluminum spokes that thread into Industry Nine’s Torch hub shell and a square internal nipple at the rim. A standard 14g wrench flat outside the rim keeps service simple. The company claims the TRA system offers reduced weight, lower spoke tensions and greater reliability and serviceability.

Industry Nine offers the TRA platform for three rims: the Pillar Carbon ULCX, Ultralite 235 CX alloy and AR25 alloy rims for 700c and 650b wheelsets.

The deal maker on Industry Nine wheels for some might be its color customization program. The base level is all black, Level 1 accents up to eight spokes per wheel in one color, Level 2 colors the hub in a single color and Level 3 has no color restrictions to let your imagination run wild.
