With three elite teams across the country, Felt will be a major presence at USGP Series and other major U.S. ’cross events

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA – Felt Bicycles is very pleased to announce a diverse lineup of elite cyclocross teams and athlete partners for the 2012-13 racing season. With three separate teams competing in the U.S.-Keough CycloCross p/b Felt Bicycles, Castex Racing p/b Felt Bicycles and SDG/Felt Bicycles-Felt will once again have a major presence in ’cross racing coast to coast.

The Keough CycloCross p/b Felt Bicycles squad is a unique team comprised of three brothers from Sandwich, Massachusetts. Nick Keough, 23, will compete at the elite level, and his brothers Luke, 21, and Jesse, 19, will focus on Under-23 competition at the U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross and other major U.S. events.

Nick has competed at several World Championship events and won a UCI-ranked race in New England in 2010. Luke has won three national championship titles as a junior-two in ‘cross and one in mountain biking. And Jesse was the overall champion in the 2010 Verge New England Cyclocross Series.

“We’re really excited about our program this year, and to be partnered with Felt,” Nick said. “Luke, Jesse and I will be gunning for the USGP events and also focusing on Nationals and qualifying for the World Championships team selection.”

Castex Racing p/b Felt Bicycles, in its inaugural year, is a one-man team consisting of Chris Jackson from Camarillo, California. The 24-year-old competed as a Cat. 1 mountain biker this past summer, capturing three national titles in cross-country, short track and Super D. But Jackson’s main focus is cyclocross, which he has only been racing for two years.

“Last year I upped my game, hired a coach, raced some UCI races and won my first ’cross race,” Jackson said. “This year I’m looking to not only race, but be in the mix. I’m excited to be racing on Felt and look forward to racing the complete USGP series as well as the National Championships.”

SDG/Felt Bicycles is a five-man squad based in Southern California. The team consists of Jason Siegle, Tyler Schwartz, Anton Petrov, David Sheek and Felt engineer Nick Ducharme.  While this team will concentrate primarily on southwestern regional events, they will also compete at select national-level races.

All of Felt’s team and pro riders will race on the new 2013 F1X, built with UHC Advanced carbon fiber featuring including InsideOut technology, ControlTaper head tube and BB30 bottom bracket. The F1X, optimized for either electronic or mechanical drivetrains, is the most advanced cyclocross bike ever produced by Felt.
