SURHUISTERVEEN, NETHERLANDS – Rob Peeters has won the 18th edition of the Centrumcross Surhuisterveen in the Netherlands. The 27-year-old Belgian rider of the Telenet-Fidea Cycling Team managed to ride away from his competitors in the last lap and crossed the finish line solo. Dutch rider Thijs van Amerongen (AA Drink) finished second, just before German rider Philipp Walsleben (BKCP-Powerplus). Lars van der Haar (Rabobank-Giant) got fourth place after a bad start early in the race. This is Rob Peeters’ first victory this season. US rider Jonathan Page finished in 12th.
