Rottua sandals might be the ultimate gift for the cyclist who has everything. The sandals are made in California, out of recycled tire components, in road, mountain, and if you’re really lucky, cyclocross versions.
Rottua sent us this version made from Hutchinson Piranha cyclocross tires, and it’s proved to be a durable, well-made sandal that wears well while showing off your favorite sport. Old tires are used to make the sandal straps, and recycled tire rubber is used to make the the soles. You’re giving old tires many more miles, and keeping them out of the landfill. Keep your feet cool, look cool, and do something cool for the environment.
Rottua offers several sandal top options, including a microfiber option or a smooth rubber top. We’d opt for the microfiber Ultrasuede, as the rubber top feels pretty firm and can be a little slippery when wet. Sandals run true to size, and take a bit of time to break in.
