Whites Become Charm City’s New Royal Cyclocross Family with Sibling Wins on Day One: Full Results

At Charm City Cyclocross 2015, Emma White (Cyclocrossworld Devo) took the holeshot and never looked back. Arley Kemmerer (Level Eleven Racing p/b PB2) chased on her wheel and tried to hold on to ensure the young rider didn’t pull away from the field. After a rough start from the front line, Kathryn Cumming (Cyclocross Magazine Racing) caught up with Britlee Bowman (HOUSE IND/WITHINGS/SIMPLEHUMAN). Cumming, Bowman and Kemmerer worked together for several laps to chase White, who had almost a full minute gap on the chasers.

Cumming and Bowman both took off from Kemmerer and began reeling White in. With two laps to go, Cumming attacked on the mansion climb at the backside of the course, and continued a fast pace. In the end, White was able to finish ahead of Cumming by 19 seconds. Bowman came in third 41 seconds after the leader.

Curtis White (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld), Travis Livermon (Mock Orange Bikes Pro CX Team), Cameron Dodge (unattached) and Ben Frederick (beyondCX) offered an edge of the seat race all the way through the last stretch of pavement. Both Dodge and White attacked at different parts of the course, but neither was able to stay away for long.

When White and Dodge began sitting up on the pavement sections late in the race, Livermon dug deep with a furious attack, ensuring that the race would not come down to a matter of tactics. The four leaders stayed together, and White didn’t attack Dodge until the quadruple sandpits near the end of the course, and the young rider was able to take the final corner in first, which he held on the pavement. Livermon was able to get past Dodge and narrowly lost to White at the line. Dodge stayed ahead of Frederick to take third.
