The UCI just confirmed that the World Cup is expanding to North America, and that a women’s youth category will be held at the Cyclocross World Championships level in 2016:

A Women’s Youth category (17-22 years old) will be added to the 2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships programme.

This year, the Pan American Championships won by Canadian Maghalie Rochette (expected to age up in 2016) and the European Championships, won by Dutch racer Sabrina Stultiens, both awarded titles in this age group.

The US should be one of the favorites for the title, with such strong U23 and collegiate racers.

Stay tuned for more on this new category and share your thoughts below:

The UCI added a combined U23 / Junior category for women to 2016 Worlds called Women's Youth. Awesome first step, or not enough?
