So much has changed over the last two decades in cyclocross. Here’s a photo of cyclocross in New England from the late 90s, with cyclocross icons Mark McCormack and Adam Myerson leading the race to the barriers.

Handmade steel frames, SRP Mr. Grumpy brakes, barcon shifters, narrow Tufo tires, an out-of-business car company sponsor, and…what else did we miss? Step-through dismount technique?

And yet Myerson still is often found near the front of New England races. Some things never change.
