Last weekend was packed with good gravel races across the country. While Cyclocross Magazine was busy covering (and racing) Michigan’s Barry-Roubaix on Saturday, the Gravel Cyclist was getting all the preparations underway for a race the following day in North Carolina: Love Valley Roubaix.

With 47 miles and 5300 feet of climbing, Love Valley Roubaix takes place on 60% gravel roads, with the rest coming by way of payment. When the promoter says this race takes place in the land that time forgot, he means it. The start begins in the rustic ghost town of Love Valley and continues on through trails and roads of the North Carolina backwoods.
