Belgian news source Nieuwsblad reported that World Champion Sven Nys will be leaving Colnago for Trek, a switch that will surely throw American cyclocross fans into a frenzy. We already knew that Nys would be stateside for CrossVegas, but if he plans to race for a team based in the US, will we see him throughout the season?

According to Nieuwsblad, “During his whole professional career, Nys has ridden on the Italian Colnago brand, but by January 1st 2014, Trek will have a new ’cross model ready for him.”

With the rumors circulated, Nys released a statement saying that nothing is set in stone yet, and that he will be racing on his Colnago until at least the end of 2013. We’re curious to see what Trek he’d be on, since we’re betting it won’t be their most recently announced aluminum Crockett model.
