Yesterday, the elite women of Europe stormed the cyclocross fields in Germany for the elusive twelve star jersey of the European Championships. Riders from 10 different nations came together, with the largest representations coming from Belgium and Germany.

The biggest battle of the day consisted of four riders at the front: Sanne Cant of Belgium, Pavla Havlikova of the Czech Republic, as well as Nikki Harris and Helen Wyman of Great Britain. The photo finishes of the climbs at the finish line are deceptive as none of these women truly finished solo by much of a margin. All four ended up within seconds of each other, with Cant taking the win, Havlikova riding for second, and Harris taking third.
