Maghalie Rochette (Specialized x Feedback Sports) and Michael van den Ham (Easton – Giant p/b Transitions LifeCare) entered the 2019 Shimano Canadian National Championships in Peterborough with Maple-Leaf shaped targets on their backs as the defending champions.

Any additional pressure as the defending champs did not faze them, as both riders earned the chance to wear their jerseys for another year.

Rochette took the Elite Women’s win, with rising star Jenn Jackson (Easton – Giant p/b Transitions LifeCare) finishing second and Sandra Walter (Liv Cycling Canada) took third.

In the Elite Men’s race, Van den Ham topped mountain biker Marc-André Fortier (Pivot Cycles – OTE) to take his third-straight Canadian Nationals. Alexandre Vialle (Toyota St – Eustache) took third.

Sidney McGill (Focus CX Canada) took the U23 Women’s title and Gunnar Holmgren (Hardwood Next Wave) took the U23 Men’s title.
