Katie Compton was going for number 14, Ellen Noble for number 1. Noble started fast before Compton eventually took the lead. Noble stayed close for the entire race and nearly had a shot at the win when Compton missed her line and had to dismount in the last lap.
Compton held on for her record-setting 14th-straight U.S. Cyclocross National Championship, and Noble’s reward for sticking close to Compton was an impressive second-place finish. Read our race report for the full story of Sunday’s race.
