Amidst the trade show, mountain bike racing and other festivities, Saturday also featured a cyclocross exhibition race at the 2018 Sea Otter Classic. There were no UCI points on the line, but you know what they say about what happens when you pin a number on...

The Women's and Men's races were dominated by Californians, with Crystal Anthony (Liv Cycling) and Lance Haidet (Donnelly) winning their respective races. Caroline Mani (Van Dessel) and Jen Malik, wearing her Collegiate Club Stars-and-Stripes, finished second and third in the Women's race, and Justin Lindine (Apex/NBX/Hyperthreads) and Craig Ritchey (Garneau-Easton) did the same in the Men's race. Full results are below the photo gallery.

John Silva was in Monterrey and provided us with this gallery from the racing action.
