While the Kovee wheels were designed with cross country and trail mountain biking in mind, the 22.5mm wide (internal) rim seems ideal for 40c gravel tires. The rim, constructed of Bontrager’s OCLV carbon, uses the company’s own molded plastic rim strip, which comes with the wheels, to modify the rim bed’s shape to hold tubeless tires. The wheels also come with Bontrager’s own tubeless valves.

The Bontrager hubs are designed to use Centerlock rotors, and for the rear feature interchangeable hub end caps so riders can switch between 135mm quick release and 142mm thru axles. There’s also a SRAM XD driver available.
